Wearing a gorgeous flowing wedding dress, you and your loved one shoot wedding photos underwater when the sea glints in the sun. Imagine how romantic it is. Many of you may be interested in underwater weddings but don’t know much about it. Can newlyweds who can’t swim do this? What should they prepare for the shooting? Today, I am going to tell you how to take incredible underwater wedding photos.
First and foremost, you need to adjust your state of mind. Once you pick a good wedding studio, makeup, wedding flowers, equipment, security and posture are what they are going to take care of. What you need to do is mentality adjustment. If you can’t swim and are very afraid of water, think twice before you go for it. Otherwise, you will look scared in the photos.
Before the shooting, you can practice how to hold your breath underwater at home. You may also try to open your eyes. As long as you are relaxed and show your happiness from the bottom of your heart, you can pull it off. Besides, you can decide how deep you dive into the water.
The second tip is about how to choose your wedding dress. You want to pick a dress made of light and thin materials so that it can flow in the water. Whether it is a streamlined long dress or a laying dress with wide hemline, you will look like a beautiful mermaid princess as long as the dress is flowing. Also you want to know if the dress gets transparent underwater. In case of that, wear nude colored underwear is a good rule of thumb. Choose light wedding headpieces because you don’t want to add too much weight on your head underwater. So do the wedding flowers.
Weather is another important thing to consider when you choose outdoor wedding shooting. You’d better take photos in a sunny afternoon because the sunlight burst through the water vertically. If it is indoor swimming pool shooting, you don’t have to consider the weather. Summer is the best time for outdoor underwater shooting.
After you have made the above preparation, make sure have a rest and healthy diet before the day you have the shooting. As the underwater shooting may consume lots of energy, you will easily get tired if you don’t eat enough. You can bring some candies or chocolate. Drink 600 to 800ml water before the shooting and drink some salt water at intervals.
